General Information

Just 135 miles of the coast of the United States lies the worlds next big destination for kite boarding. Nassau, on the Island of New Providence, in the Bahamas, offers everything from shallow flats, perfect for the beginner, to great wind and surf for the advanced rider. The Kite House Bahamas has qualified PASA instructors ready to help you take full advantage of all the Bahamas has to offer.

Conditions

Winter time in Nassau brings strong NNE winds ranging from 12-15 knots and increasing to 25-30 knots during cold fronts. In the summertime the winds shift to SSE with speeds dropping to about 10-12 knots but with a general increase to 15kts in the afternoons. Besides great weather, The Bahamas is home to some of the most beautiful kite boarding spots in the world, from secluded crystal clear bays to long, wind whipped beaches perfect for down-winders. With average temps of 70 degrees in winter and 82 in summer, and water temps reaching the low 80’s in the summer and 70’s in winter, The Bahamas is an ideal destination for year-round kite boarding.

Spots

There are a number of different spots we kite at around the island so what ever the wind direction there is always a spot we can take you. It takes just 1 ½ hours to drive round the whole island so you are never too far from a new beach and it also means you never have to kite at the same spot twice. All the beaches we kite at have shallow water and sandy bottoms. One particular beach stays shallow for 6 miles out.

The Kite House Bahamas is also an ideal location for families and those with non kiting partners looking for a relaxing beach vacation. Apart from the fantastic beaches Nassau has world class casinos and nightlife, fine dining, duty free shopping as well as scuba diving, tennis, golf, horseback riding and snorkeling. The Kite House Bahamas is happy to help arrange any extra curricular activities.

Accomodations

Kite boarders can choose from a variety of accommodation packages ranging from economy to luxury. For families our recommendation is The Orange Hill Beach Inn as this is situated on one of the nicest beaches. For those on a budget we recommend Coral Harbour Beach Villas but there are hundreds to choose from if you search on the internet. We will pick you up each morning and take you to the kiting spot for the day so it doesn’t matter where on the island you choose to stay.

Prices:

2 Day beginner course = $450.00

5 Day beginner course = $1100.00

5 Day intermediate course = $850.00

5 Day advanced course = $650.00 (own equipment)

Additional days:

Beginner = $250.00

Intermediate = $180.00

Advanced = $140.00 (own equipment)

Prices include transportation to and from your hotel and the kiting spot each day, equipment, instruction, boat support, drinks and snacks.

We require a 30% deposit on booking and the rest is payable on arrival. We will not charge for not wind days that you do not go out but we can organize other activities for you.
